Education Streams

The Progressive Program

The Progressive Program is suited to children who prefer more facilitation in their day as they learn to develop their independence to a level that best suits their needs. The Progressive Program is an inquiry-based, student-centered program where learning is hands-on, contextual and centered around big ideas and questions that engage our students. We ensure the outcomes of the Alberta Program of Studies are being met by applying current pedagogy and best practices. We operate with a classroom cap of 16-18 students and have begun to pilot partner teachers in certain classrooms.

The Montessori Program

The Montessori Program is fully accredited by the Canadian Council of Montessori Administrators (CCMA). Our Montessori classes include 3-year-old to 5-year-old CASA, Lower Elementary (years 1-3) and Upper Elementary (years 4-6). This stream follows the Montessori principles as laid out by the CCMA. We also align our Montessori outcomes with those of the Alberta Program of Studies and the needs of the 21st century learner. Teachers have either Montessori or Alberta Education Certification. There are two teachers in each room, one must be an Alberta certified teacher.

Our Montessori programming, while smaller in number of classes, has developed into a solid and effective program.

The Arrowsmith Program

The Arrowsmith Program is a scientific approach to help students overcome their learning challenges. Arrowsmith certified teachers focus on the science of neuroplasticity to retrain the brain and give students the tools they need to succeed in the classroom and in life. We are the only school in Alberta that offers the Arrowsmith Program.
