How It Works
Many companies offer employee matching gift programs, where they match charitable donations made by their employees. At River Valley School, some families are taking that one step further by participating in our family matching initiatives as well.
This creates a powerful ripple effect:
Imagine the journey of a single gift:
- A family donates $500 to the Annual Fund
- Their employer matches $500 (now $1,000)
- A River Valley School family match contributes another $1,000
Suddenly, that original gift becomes $2,000 supporting our students.
This is what we call Match Within a Match—a simple act of generosity multiplied through community and corporate partnership.

Many parents already have access to corporate matching programs through their workplace but may not realize how easy it is to participate.
Typically, the process looks like this:
- Make a donation to River Valley School Society.
- Check with your employer to see if they offer a charitable matching program.
- Submit the request through your company’s giving portal or HR platform.
- Your employer sends the matching gift to the school.
Because corporate matching gifts can sometimes take time for companies to process and distribute, we encourage families to send the Advancement team a quick screenshot or confirmation with a time stamp once they submit their request. This allows us to:
- Unlock matching opportunities
- Track progress toward our campaign goals
- Celebrate the impact with the community in real time
