Get Involved with RVS
RVS is a thriving community where every contribution, whether through volunteering or philanthropy, plays a vital role in shaping our school’s future.
Your Involvement Makes Us Stronger
Our school thrives when volunteers come together. We welcome your involvement to help create a richer experience for our students and community. Your support allows us to achieve more and make a lasting impact.
All volunteers require a valid Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector screening, valid for three years.
Join Us in Making a Collective Impact
At River Valley School, we encourage every member of our community to participate in our Annual Fund, fostering a spirit of collective generosity. Schools like RVS do not receive capital funding in the same way public schools do. Our government funding and tuition cover only operational costs, while everything else—our facilities, programs, educational model, bursaries, and other enhancements—comes from the contributions of parents and supporters.
Thanks to this generosity, we’ve been able to enrich our learning spaces, expand our Student Bursary Fund, and ensure that RVS continues to thrive. We invite all families to join this ongoing legacy.
First Day of School – What to Expect
Uniform & Drop-Off
- Formal Uniform: Students must wear their formal uniform on the first day of school.
- Drop-Off Routine: To help ease first-day jitters, we encourage a quick and confident goodbye at curbside drop-off. A short and sweet hug and kiss will help nervous children settle in faster than a prolonged farewell.
What to Bring
- Please ensure your child brings the following labeled items:
- A refillable water bottle
- Indoor dress shoes and non-marking athletic runners for gym use
- Appropriate outer-wear for the season (students are welcome to leave an additional set at their hook)
- A “paint shirt” for creative (and sometimes messy!) activities
- A full extra set of clothing (for all Pre-JK to Kindergarten students)
- No need to bring school supplies—everything is provided!
A Little Reminder
It’s completely normal for children (and parents!) to feel a mix of excitement and nerves on the first day. We’re here to support everyone through the transition. Together, we’ll make it a great start to the school year!
Pick-up & Drop-off
Student safety is always a concern for school staff, but keeping children safe in the parking lot requires the cooperation of everyone – from school staff to drivers and the students themselves. Thank you for your continued cooperation and patience on this matter.
