RVS Ambassador Tool Kit

If you’ve landed here, it means you’re energized and excited to help share the magic of River Valley School—and we’re so grateful!

Word of mouth is one of the most powerful ways families discover our community, and your voice makes a meaningful difference. This toolkit is here to make it easy for you to spread the word: download logos and photos, post online, and share your experience with others.

As you use these materials, we ask that you do so with care. These elements represent more than just our visual identity—they reflect our mission, vision, and the values we live every day. Thank you for helping us protect and honour the spirit of River Valley School.

If you have any questions about how to use this toolkit or would like support promoting RVS, feel free to reach out to us at community@rivervalleyschool.ca We’re here to help!

Quick Hits for Parent Ambassadors

The RVS Parent Ambassador Program is a strategic initiative designed to leverage authentic word-of-mouth to strengthen the school’s community and brand. This program offers a flexible framework for families to support the institution through three primary pillars: Admissions, Marketing, and Advancement.

Exceptional Education from Age 3 to Grade 6

River Valley School offers a nurturing, personalized learning experience for children from Pre-Junior Kindergarten (age 3) through Grade 6. We meet children where they are, honour who they are becoming, and support them every step of the way as confident, curious learners.

Who Thrives at RVS?

RVS is a wonderful fit for children who are naturally curious, thoughtful, creative, and eager to learn in a warm, inclusive environment. Families who choose RVS value whole-child development — not just academics — and appreciate a school culture that prioritizes kindness, connection, and growth over pressure and competition.

No Formal Academic Testing

We believe children are more than a test score. Academic testing is not required for admission, and our diverse community includes a wide range of learning styles, strengths, and backgrounds. While we are not a DSEPS school, our proactive Learning Support Program is designed to meet students where they are and help them grow with confidence, compassion, and care.

Flexible Care & Busing

We know family life is busy — and we aim to make school life easier.

Before & After School Care: Our in-house Kids Club offers high-quality care from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday to Friday.
Convenient Calgary Busing: Daily school-run transportation is available in the Northwest, Southwest, and inner city, helping families across Calgary access RVS with ease.

Early Support, Lasting Impact

Early support makes a world of difference. RVS prioritizes early intervention, personalized learning support, and enrichment opportunities to set children up for long-term success. We also have in-house Speech-Language Pathologists and Occupational Therapists to support students with assessed needs — all within the comfort of their school environment.

A Close-Knit, Caring Community

Families often tell us they feel the difference the moment they walk through our doors. At RVS, every child is known, valued, and supported — and every family’s story matters. Our staff take pride in building genuine relationships and creating a community where children feel safe, seen, and celebrated.

Specialist-Taught Programming from Age 3

Even our youngest learners benefit from specialist-led programs that spark creativity, confidence, and curiosity. From age three, students enjoy music, French, art, physical education, drama, outdoor education, library, and communication technologies — all designed to enrich learning and support whole-child development.

Small Class Sizes, Personalized Learning

Small class sizes mean big impact. With low student-to-teacher ratios and both a Teacher and Educational Assistant in every homeroom, children receive the individualized attention they deserve:

• 1:8 in Preschool
• 1:9 from Kindergarten to Grade 6

This structure allows teachers to truly know each child and tailor learning to their unique needs and strengths.

Success Beyond Elementary

At River Valley School, our small, personalized learning environment prepares students not just for their next school — but for the world beyond it. While we’re not affiliated with any junior high, we offer thoughtful, individualized guidance to Grade 6 families based on a deep understanding of each child’s strengths, interests, and goals. Our graduates move on to a wide range of independent, academy, and public schools, carrying with them strong academics, confidence, curiosity, and the social-emotional skills to thrive wherever they go.

A Thoughtful Approach to Learning

RVS blends the best of multiple educational approaches, with a strong focus on project-based, inquiry-driven, and cross-curricular learning. Our goal is to make learning meaningful, engaging, and connected to the real world — while nurturing creativity, critical thinking, and a lifelong love of learning.

Promoting River Valley School in a meaningful way

I love River Valley School because… (adapted from real testimonials!)

“…for the first time, my child feels truly seen and celebrated for who they are.”

“…it’s the kind of school I always wished I could have gone to as a kid.”

“…they believe in my child even on the days when my child struggles to believe in themselves.”

“…my once-shy little one now runs into school every morning with a huge smile and endless stories to tell.”

“…they challenge my child academically, while never losing sight of the importance of kindness, connection, and self-belief.”

“…I’ve watched my child go from hesitant to fearless, from curious to deeply confident.”

“…they see the magic in every child and work every day to help it shine even brighter.”

“…it feels like an extension of our family—warm, welcoming, and inclusive.”

“… it meets both of my kids where they are—even though they learn and grow in completely different ways.

What Families Are Saying — OurKids Reviews

Choosing the right school is a big decision, and hearing from other parents can make all the difference. OurKids is Canada’s trusted independent school review platform, where families share honest reflections about their school experiences.

River Valley School is just beginning to build our presence on OurKids, and we’d love for our families to help bring the “Wonder Lives Here” story to life by sharing their own experiences.

Your voice matters — and your story can help future families understand what makes RVS such a special place to learn and grow.
