A Place of Wonder
As experts in early childhood education, we know that the root of student success lies within a strong foundation of purposeful exploration, creation, play, and connection.
We nurture our youngest learners to participate in, learn about, and actively make sense of the world around them and we do so by prioritizing unstructured indoor and outdoor play, developing relationships and celebrating curiosity.
Our highly qualified educators engage with students through adaptive, inquiry-based and hands-on learning experiences; laying the ground work for future success in elementary school and beyond!
At River Valley School the Alberta’s Early Learning and Care Framework guides the significant work of our early learning educators.
Childcare Affordability Grants & Subsidies
Childcare Affordability Grant
Beginning January 2022, the Government of Alberta issued an affordability grant to ALL families regardless of income. Please note that this applies to our Pre-JK & JK year old programming only. You do not have to apply for this grant, our school submits for it each month based on your child’s attendance in our Pre-JK or JK program (full time or part time). The amounts that will be deducted from your fees are as follows:
Preschool Age (3 & 4 year olds):
- $626.00 per month (full time – over 100 hours per month)
- $225.00 per month (part time – between 50 – 100 hours per month)
Childcare Subsidy:
On top of the grant, parents of children not yet in school, that make less than $180,000 per year can apply for an additional subsidy. If you have a dual parent household, both parents need to be working or schooling to be considered.
Click HERE to head to the subsidy website to learn if you qualify and apply.
Please note: that subsidy is based on actual hours used and the full amount they show is based on 100 hours of attendance. If coming less, it could be pro-rated.
