Wonder Lives in discovering your personal best through exposure to specialized educators and unique experiences.

Elementary Program

Our Elementary students are immersed in inquiry and project-based learning experiences that challenge them to question, explore and create.

Our curriculum and activities are ground in design thinking, which provides students with a ‘road map’ to identify challenges, gather information, generate ideas, and test solutions.

In addition to core subjects, students enjoy enriched programming in Music, French, Art, Health, Drama, Physical and Outdoor Education, Library, and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics).

Achieving your personal best

River Valley School deeply values the benefits of inquiry, project-based and cross-curricular opportunities to learn.

Student achievement and student engagement is carried out through varied learning opportunities, hands-on exploration, collaboration, developing independence and differentiation in our instruction. We provide for the intellectual, social/emotional, and physical development of each student.

At River Valley School, we have high and appropriate expectations for every student. Year after year, our kids rank in the top tier of provincial testing, academic competitions, arts and athletics.

Leading with kindness and compassion

At River Valley School, students are empowered to become independent, confident leaders within their school and greater communities.

Student Government (Stu-Go) is a club that brings student voice to the forefront at River Valley School. Each term, a new student representative is elected in every class from Grade 1 to 6. These representatives attend weekly meetings and discuss ideas about how to enhance the student experience at RVS. Stu-Go reps also take on leadership roles at our weekly Wednesday Assembly, support school initiatives, and model representative democracy within the school.

A ‘Buddy Program’ is also used as a powerful tool for both the older and younger students to grow their social and emotional skills and feel a greater sense of community.
