Where Wonder meets Friendship: Buddies at RVS

At RVS, we believe learning isn’t just about being in the classroom—it’s about wonder, curiosity, and connection. That’s why our Buddies program is at the heart of what we do. It’s more than just pairing students together; it’s about creating opportunities for children to build friendships, explore their community, and discover their own voice.

Buddies break down grade divisions and open doors to shared experiences. Whether it’s reading a book side by side, strumming a ukulele for the first time, or hanging out at the park, students get a taste of the many ways learning can happen. These moments aren’t fleeting—they become the kind of memories that stick long after their time at RVS.

For our older students, becoming the “older buddy” is a milestone. Being an older buddy isn’t just about the fun; it’s a chance to practice patience, build trust, and develop self-confidence hanging out with younger students.

When students go home after a day with buddy activities, they carry more than just stories, they carry lessons in empathy, responsibility, and memories of joy. Buddies enrich personal growth in so many ways!

At RVS, Buddies aren’t just a part of the school day. They’re a reflection of our belief that learning is best when it’s shared, celebrated, and filled with wonder!
